Max Dunn, pleased to meet you.”

Isla smiles shyly at the smug bastard, and the urge to tear him to shreds moves through me. She takes his hand and responds, “Isla Redmond, nice to meet you, too.” While he shakes her hand, it takes all my control not to rip my friend’s arm off for daring to touch my woman.

Since Max is a bear shifter, he realizes my wolf isn’t going to tolerate another male touching my mate, so he backs away after releasing Isla’s hand. Then, he turns to me and smiles smugly. “Wanted to let you know the bridge is all fixed.
